Room & board in exchange for work

Looking to work in exchange for a room.
I am fresh out of a relationship and need a place now.
I have no job history as I stayed home raising our daughter.
Due to that, I would be best suited for live in housekeeping/assistant, etc.
If you live near any shops, etc.
that would be great so I could get a part-time job possibly and make some money.
I said work for room and board but doesn't that really just mean the room and food? So I'd need to have money for cat food, litter, personal needs and maybe a bit of fun (going out to eat occasionally, to the movies, etc.
) I have 4 well-behaved cats that are family to me.
They can stay in my room.
