Kemper is seeking an experienced technical Business Systems Analyst in our IT department.
This role is responsible for P&C applications.
Solve complex, cross organizational business opportunities by using your experience in analyzing requirements; designing technical solutions and recommending system controls and procedures.
Use your communication, meeting facilitation, analysis and problem-solving skills to understand and respond to user needs in rapidly changing business environments.
Drive analysis of business proposals, ensure solutions achieve desired business results and lead change management activities.
Accountable for small to medium scale projects and coordinate production support activities.
Position Responsibilities
Serve as an experienced Business Systems Analyst with a depth of expertise.
Liaison with business for IT portfolio coordination.
Research and develop functional design documents and align with technical design documents.
Outline detailed application testing and support user acceptance testing.
Serve as a subject matter expert within a specific scope.
Lead complex change management activities; including: Training (e.
g.
, training plans and materials, training sessions), Process improvements and efficiencies, Documentation support (e.
g.
, operational procedures, troubleshooting guides), Production readiness activities (e.
g.
, release management, deployment support and check out, customer support).
Lead analysis, design, implementation and testing of configuration
Knowledge of systems development lifecycle activities
Maintains knowledge of business functionality and technical platforms as business climate and technology platforms evolve.
Performs procedural duties within standardized practices, where applicable.
Complies with and supports all corporate, department and security policies and procedures.
Support high level estimation and design.
Provide oversight of Portfolio Enhancements/Projects.
Coordinate production activities such as: Triage, troubleshooting, Data analysis (e.
g.
, SQL / data analysis), Product and compliance requests
Position Qualifications
5-7 years of business system analyst experience required
Strong testing and production support background is needed
Advanced knowledge of systems development lifecycle activities
Property and Casualty insurance industry experience is a plus
Must be proficient with business analysis including creation of workflows, documenting of use cases and business requirements documentation, test cases and data analysis.
Requires strong design experience – including functional requirements documentation, test cases, requirements coverage
Education equivalent to a college degree in an information technology related or business administration related discipline, supplemented by insurance or computer-related courses/knowledge, or the equivalent in related work experience.
The selected candidate will be required to complete 6 weeks of training in office.
Post training the employee will transition to a hybrid work schedule which will require weekly reporting to our Jacksonville location.
Hybrid position reporting to the Jacksonville, FL office 1-2 times per week.
