00 Job Summary/Responsibilities Ozzie’s Playful Computing Camp is a unique opportunity for UNF students to gain experience collaborating and supporting an experienced lead teacher while working with small cohorts of elementary students (grades 1-5) on Scratch Coding and related STEM learning experiences.
This curriculum is already prepared, age-appropriate and fun.
Counselors would be responsible for assisting with all transitions, morning set-up and afternoon clean up, safe pick-up/drop-off maneuvers, assistance organizing and facilitating enrichment activities, supporting the lead teacher with classroom instruction and lesson facilitation that explores topics in engineering/ design thinking, computer coding, robotics, and drones.
And let’s not forget— play! Ozzie’s Playful Computing Camp will run for 3 weeks in June, and includes paid training, orientation and classroom set up with your assigned lead teacher.
Beginning May 4, 2024.
Dates dependent upon candidate availability.
(9:00-3:30:pm): Paid mandatory training and orientation.
June 10-14; 17-21; 24-28 (9:00-3:00 pm) including 2 early/late drop off and pick up rotations per week.
Required Qualifications • Be a current UNF student • Proficiency in undergraduate coursework • Functions well when working on a team • Aptitude to learn on the job from co-workers and supervisors • Ability to maintain patience and positive attitude when working with students • Pass background check upon job offer and get fingerprinted (project will pay the cost of background check and fingerprinting) Preferred Qualifications • College of Education and Human Services STEM education students are preferred; however, students from STEM fields are encouraged to apply • Strong STEM academic background • Demonstrated positive experience working with children in educational settings Statement(s) of Understanding Background Check, Responsible Employee Statement(s) of Understanding Definition This position requires a level 2 background check, which includes fingerprinting.
In conjunction with the University’s policy, this position may also require a credit check.
The holder of this position is designated as a “Responsible Employee” pursuant to their role under Title IX.
Therefore, the incumbent must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the University’s Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator.
